
The hotel is located just 5 minutes away from the Plaza de Armas [Main Square] of Arequipa. It’s a unique hotel built with ashlar and has colonial rooms.
It’s 225 years old and it used to be the Peruvian National Mint for 6 years between 1937 to 1943. The gold leaf murals, and paintings from the Republican era have been integrated in the hotel.
In 2019, it was recognized as a cultural heritage by UNESCO, obtaining the blue shield, a symbol that allows its visitors to know its history through a QR code.
