KARI CANYON

The Moon Valley hides a secret of great beauty, little frequented and known: The Kari Canyon.

Named for the greenish color of its copper ores (mineral as it is extracted from the mine), it includes an always surprising journey from the heights of the viewpoint, passing through a Salty plain, to the meandering path of the water inside blades of clay and salt.

TARA SALT FLAT

On the border of the country, there is a simply impressive water system: the Salar de Tara.

At almost 5,000 meters of altitude, it is possible to admire a sky bluer than any, surrounded by colorful mountains and overwhelming silence. Llamas, vicuñas, flamingos, goldfinches, Cholulos, and many other species inhabit the salt flats, and it is crowned by the imposing Monjes de la Pacana, columns of volcanic rock shaped by erosion.

ALTIPLANIC SALT FLATS

Located almost on the border with Argentina are the Salares de Aguas Calientes and Tuyactu. Both are enveloped in absolute silence, mainly thanks to their low number of visitors. The hot water salt flat has a splendid view of the surrounding volcanoes, and reddish waters. The Tuyactu lagoon is, instead, a mirror of saltwater, which looks like snow in the dry season.

If there's extra time in the afternoon, head out of town for other scenic stops for views of the snowcapped Osorno Volcano. At the end of the day, return to your hotel in Puerto Varas to explore the "Ciudad de las Rosas," or the City of Roses, at night.

HORNS LOOKOUT

One of the most moderate trails in the park, which concentrates many unmissable views. Begin by being amazed at the power of nature by visiting the Paine Waterfall. Follow a pleasant path where the turquoise of lakes contrasts with the glacial white of the mountains. Finish by enjoying a breathtaking view of the mountains at the foot of the famous Cuernos del Paine and the shore of Lake Nordenskjöld.

FRENCH VALLEY

Considered among the best trails in the Park, it is part of the famous "W" circuit. You will ascend steep moraines and hopefully witness avalanches from the French Glacier. A little further up, we will find impressive peaks and huge granite walls, reaching a 360-degree view of the heart of the Paine massif. This excursion is of long duration, for which we must cross Lake Pehoé on a catamaran that gives us a beautiful view of the Massif.
